He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to him thou attendest 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and purified. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 Mother and father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
