Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
