The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
