3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
