The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
