The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
