The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad SAW) the Book (the Quran), and has not placed therein any crookedness. 1 [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward 2 wherein they shall remain forever, 3 And to warn those who say, "God has taken to Himself a son." 4 They do not have any knowledge of it – nor did their forefathers; profound is the word that comes out of their mouths; they only speak a lie. 5 Will you kill yourself for grief of them if they do not believe in this presentation? 6 We have appointed all that is on the earth an adornment for it, in order that We try which of them is finest in works. 7 And lo! We shall make all that is thereon a barren mound. 8 Or dost thou think the Men of the Cave and Er-Rakeem were among Our signs a wonder? 9 When the young men took refuge in the Cave – then said, “Our Lord! Give us mercy from Yourself, and arrange guidance for us in our affair.” 10 Then We sealed up their hearing in the Cave for a number of years. 11 and then roused them so that We might see which of the two parties could best tell the length of their stay. 12
