Do not kill your children because you fear poverty. We will provide for you and them. Killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not even approach adultery. It is indecent and an evil act. 32 Do not kill the soul whom Allah has forbidden except by right. If he is slain unjustly, We have given his heir authority. But let him not exceed the limit in slaying, for he will be helped. 33 Come not near the wealth of the orphan save with that which is better till he come to strength; and keep the covenant. Lo! of the covenant it will be asked. 34 And give full measure when you measure out, and weigh with a true balance; this is fair and better in the end. 35 Do not follow what you do not know. The hearing, sight and heart about all these you shall be questioned. 36 And walk not on earth with haughty self-conceit: for, verily, thou canst never rend the earth asunder, nor canst thou ever grow as tall as the mountains! 37 All of that -- the wickedness of it is hateful in the sight of thy Lord has revealed to thee: 38 That is of the wisdom thy Lord set not up with God another god, or thou wilt be cast into Gehenna, reproached and rejected. 39 Has then your Lord (O pagans of Makkah) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself from among the angels daughters.
