The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
