Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
