The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 has created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
