And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
