The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments purify! 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
