Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
