(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 142 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 145 Do you believe that you will be left here to live securely in the present state 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 Fear Allah and obey me 150 do not obey the bidding of those who are given to excesses, 151 “Those who spread turmoil in the earth, and do no reform.” 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, 155 “And do not touch her with evil intentions for the punishment of the Great Day will seize you.” 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159
