Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
