And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
