Now surely, unto Pharaoh's folk [too] came such warnings; 41 They, too, rejected all Our signs. So We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent. 42 Are your disbelievers better than they were, or have you been given exemption in the Books? 43 Or say they: We are a host victorious? 44 Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter. 46 Surely the sinners are misguided and insane. 47 On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching. 48 We have indeed created all things by measure; 49 Our commandment is but one word, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have destroyed the likes of you in the past: So is there any one who will be warned? 51 All their deeds are in the Scrolls, 52 Every matter, small and great, is on record. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King. 55
