O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.)], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble; 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
