Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
