Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
