Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him, warn your closest relatives. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
