The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
