Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
