The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
