Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
