Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verse of the Scripture that maketh plain. 1 Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand. 2 In revealing this Quran to you, We tell you the best of the stories of which you were unaware. 3 LO! Thus spoke Joseph unto his father: "O my father! Behold, I saw [in a dream] eleven stars, as well as the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves before me!" 4 Said (the father): "My (dear) little son! relate not thy vision to thy brothers, lest they concoct a plot against thee: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy! 5 And thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee of the interpretation of discourses, and will fulfil His favour upon thee and upon the house of Y'aqub even as He fulfilled it upon thy fathers, Ibrahim and Is-haq aforetime; verily thy Lord is Knowing, Wise. 6
