The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 who guard their privates, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
