'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 "Therefore fear Allah and obey me." 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 "Be, then, conscious of God and pay heed unto me: 131 "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 "And with gardens and water-springs." 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
