Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Can He who has created not know (His creation)? He is all-penetrating, all-aware. 14
