THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 Recall what time We delivered him and his household, all. 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138
