Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron, 114 And delivered them and their people from the great affliction. 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138
