We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 And We helped them, so they were victorious. 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 But they denounced him as a liar, so they will surely be arraigned (for punishment), 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot, too, was among the Messengers. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine].
