O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
