S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
