۞ Say, [God says] "O My servants, who have committed excesses against their own souls, do not despair of God's mercy, for God surely forgives all sins. He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 53 Turn to your Lord and surrender yourselves to Him before the chastisement over-takes you; for then you will receive no help. 54 Follow the best of what has been revealed to you by your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly and you are caught unawares, 55 Lest a soul should say: Alas! for that I have been remiss in respect of Allah, and I was but of the scoffers! 56 Or (lest) he should say: "If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2)." 57 Or, he may say as he sees the punishment, "Would that I had a second chance, so that I could be among the doers of good." 58 But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers. 59 On the Day of Judgment you will see the faces of those who had invented falsehood against God blackened. Is not hell the dwelling of the arrogant ones? 60 And Allah will deliver those who feared Him to their place of safety. Evil will not touch them, nor will they grieve. 61 Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is over everything a Trustee. 62 To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, such are they who will be the losers. 63
