And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And one part of him will say: "This it is that has been ever-present with me!" 23 (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!- 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ And his comrade shall say, 'Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.' 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
