Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
