The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the sun and its light 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 And the day when it revealeth him, 3 and the night as it veils it darkly! 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 Consider the human self, and how it is formed in accordance with what it is meant to be, 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 He has succeeded who purifies it, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
