Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
