Thamud denied the warning 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Behold, We sent a single Blast against them, and they became like the trampled twigs of a sheep pen-builder. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
