Thamood cried lies to the warnings 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 39 Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 40
