The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
