The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right. 38
