Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew – 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 In a Book Hidden. 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Would you say that this statement is a lie? 81 and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 the while you are [helplessly] looking on 84 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 85 Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,- 86 That you bring it back, if you are truthful? 87 But if he [the dying person] is one of those brought near to God, 88 (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). 89 And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, 90 Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 Then his reception is the hot boiling water. 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Verily this! this is the very truth. 95 So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. 96

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
