Say: "I am only a warner, and there is no other god but God, the one, the omnipotent, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, the Mighty, the Forgiver. 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended: 69 It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner." 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 “So when I have perfected him and breathed into him a spirit from Myself, (you all) fall down before him in prostration.” 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!” 76 'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 Answered He: "Verily, so [be it:] thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 80 till the Day the time whereof is known [only to Me]." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together. 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
