Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
