But nay, I swear by all that you can see 38 And what you do not see, 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 It is not the speech of a poet (little do you believe) 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! 42 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 43 Had Muhammad invented some words against Us. 44 We would surely have seized him by the right hand, 45 Then would have cut off his heart’s artery. 46 And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us). 47 Surely it is a Reminder to the godfearing; 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 Indeed, it is a sorrow to the unbelievers 50 for, verily, it is truth absolute! 51 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 52
