Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
