The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
